Global Policy Certificate Program

Learn key issues addressed by global policy, such as development goals, the environment, financial regulation, nuclear proliferation, democratization and state-building. Students in the Global Policy certificate program will build the tools, training and knowledge necessary to lead policy development in an increasingly interdependent world while engaging various governments, private industries, non-governmental organizations and international organizations. Applicants must possess a graduate degree in order to be considered for this program.

Admission for the Global Policy Certificate Program

Applicants to this certificate program must hold a graduate degree from an accredited U.S. college, university or its foreign equivalent. A competitive graduate record that indicates strong academic ability is required, though applicants need not have extensive academic experience in public policy. Work experience in the public sector is desirable but not necessary.

Global Policy Required Courses

To earn a certificate, students must complete the following four courses:

  • any three courses in the Global Policy Specialization plus MPPA 407 Scope & Theory of Public Policy

Please note that courses completed in the certificate program cannot be transferred to the corresponding graduate degree.

This certificate program can be completed on campus or online, or a combination of both.
