Minors

Students in the Bachelor of Science in General Studies, Bachelor of Philosophy, and Bachelor of Philosophy in Communication degrees can pursue a minor in one of the subjects listed below. Students may pursue only one minor. Courses that fulfill requirements for a major may not be used to fulfill minor requirements. At least half of the courses in a minor should be completed at Northwestern University.

Students in the degree programs listed above who are interested in declaring a minor should consult with their academic adviser.

Undergraduate Certificates

Bachelor's degree students may complete an undergraduate certificate during their time at SPS. Students should work closely with their academic adviser to plan their course of study. All certificate course requirements must be completed at Northwestern University.

Students in the online Bachelor of Science degree programs in Enterprise Leadership, Information Systems, Strategic Communication, Social Sciences, or Health Sciences may select an elective certificate as part of their curriculum. Students in the Bachelor of Science in General Studies, Bachelor of Philosophy, and Bachelor of Philosophy in Communication degrees may pursue a certificate in the following:

Business Certificate
The Business certificate requires students to complete a total of five courses. Business certificate courses are applied toward the total units required for the degree. See the Degree Requirements page.

 *NOTE: Students in the organization behavior major must take ECON 201, MKTG 201, ORG BEH 367 and ORG BEH 391 to earn the business certificate. 

Organization Behavior: Business Leadership students are not eligible for the business certificate, as they will earn a Business Leadership certificate as part of their program.
